thats not it i can take the whole pump off and submerge it in water and it still wont pull

ok the pump spins but wont pump any water ive pulled it apart 100 damn times and it wont work even if i take it off the skimmer it just wont pull...
ok going to get a dkh test kit ill see what that says what is a good level for fish and inverts

one more ? i have a hang on protien skimmer and it keeps overflowing(with water not foam) could the pump be to large
so should i just wait it out?
