1,000 shrimp like pods?

    These are most likely copepods or amphipods...natural, harmless, and a good sign of tank maturity (or the beginning of).

    Must have been a hatching of some sort today. This is the first time I have seen these guys (don't recall seeing them in my first setup 3 years ago). They almost resemble mosquito larvae.

    Hard to tell exactly. Too small to even see. I'll say shimp larvae is the closest match. Do they remain on the size order of a mm or grow larger?

    They are basically gone in a day. That larvae picture is deceiving, in that I couldn't see that detail with the naked eye. They looked like a bunch of little shrimp blobs heading to the surface.
