oh and your wife wanting it might not be a bad thing cause it could end up being you new toy if she ends up not doing anything with it after the first week or so

thanks tom you should start one up its surprisingly easy just stay on top of your water changes and the tank pretty much takes care of itself and its so small it wouldnt be that expensive especially if you do like i did and just start pulling frags out of your main tank

ok i know ive neglected this thread for a while now so im going to do a long overdue update. first things first a couple weeks after my last update i turned off the pump to feed my fungias and went out to hang out with some friends and forgot to turn it back on. i didnt get back till the next morning and when i did get back i saw the tank lid open which i dont leave open so i went and looked at the tank my ycg was at the top gasping my montipora and blastos were closed up everything else looked ok. the pump not being on had caused the tank not to get any oxygen overnight and that caused mayhem luckily the yellow clown goby did survive and is now healthy and happy but i did lose the monti and blastos. oh and the ricordia got bleached out so i gave it to a friend in hopes that he might be able to get it in better shape.in the past months the clean up crew mostly the snails have been breeding like crazy as you will see in the pics to follow. and the fungias have nearly doubled in size since my last update here is one of them taking up an entire corner of the tank
    [IMG]
and here is another one also taking up a lot of room and next to it on the left you will see a baby one that i grew in this tank. it started when i accidentally broke the "stem" off of one of the bigger ones and i just left it laying around in the tank and a week or so later i saw a new coral that i didnt put in and it turned out to be another fungia.

i have updated the lighting to a 10 super actenic hybrid led the silver parts make the blue light and the yellow part makes the white light.

and here is the fan and heat sink i use to keep it cool during operation [IMG]
these are some new zoanthids i added a month and a half ago called killer clowns you can see how much the blue light affects my iphone camera. but in real life it has a 20 k look to it and it makes all the colors pop [IMG]
the ring of fire zoas and the dragon eye zoas have grown and both have overtaken the area they are on [IMG]
and lastly here is my attempt at a decent fts with the new light [IMG]
hope you enjoyed and sorry it took so long to do an update :)
oh and that red algae all over the rocks is not cyano its some other type of algae its not a nuicense so i leave it alone
