If its sealed off completely, how are you getting any oxygen exchange?

+1. I would try some finely cut mysis or krill soaked in Zoe.

zc42 its not completely sealed off there are two slits in the back of the trim that i cut and the trim is not siliconed down to the glass it is removeable so some gets in that way and also the plexiglas is not siliconed down to the trim so air does get in there and besides i take the lid off for 5 mins when i feed in the morning (im not saying that gives it all the o2 it needs but that it allows any stagnant air to escape) and lastly the pump is very close to the surface of the water so the water movement allows some of the air to move around and get changed out with fresh air. its just close enough to sealed off to keep evap down to a minimum

and chelsea and swimswith fish i tried brine shrimp one time and they were way too big for them like almost 5 times the size of their mouth so im thinking that cut up krill or mysis would still be a little too big my next thought would be to use cyclopezee which im pretty sure is frozen rotifers and cyclops and other types of zooplankton

and i had to go to work today which is my normal day off so the water test will have to wait till this afternoon when i get off

rotifers are also a great food for such small mouths. brine shrimp actually occasionally feed off of them just to give you an image of how small they are.

well i did my water test and the only thing i found that was off was the ammonia it looked to be about .5 ppm this was before i did a water change and put a 2 drops of prime in the tank but i dont think that would have been high enough to kill him ive seen fish survive much higher levels and the ammonia that was present may well have been caused by him dying. but who knows. the other two things i tested were ph and nitrate and both of the were where they needed to be.

i put a few nassarius snail shells in of slightly varying sizes for the 2 hermits to change into and the first thing one of them did was change lol

and since my screen name is pico"reef"guy and not pico"fowlr"guy i figured it was time to add a few more corals to this tank. all these pictures were taken just a few mins after the lights came on so nothing is open and happy yet in the pics.

this is a frag of baby fungias i bought i wanted to break the middle of the 3 big ones off so the other two would have more room to grow but i accidentally broke the big on to the right instead. so thats the one that went into the pico.

and here is a tiny little ricordia i had in my 20 long it was so small i figured the pico would make a good home for it
