as usual im getting differing opinions in regards to adding a fish. im thinking of adding a 3 inch yellow eyed tang. what ive got now is a 4 inch onespot rabbit , 3 inch purple tang , 3 inch coral beauty, 2 inch flame angel , 2 clowns totalling 3 inches and a flasher wrasse an inch or so. thats roughly 18 inches of fish. so as a guide thats an inch per 5 gals.

its a 90 gallon 4 ft tank , 110 lbs lr , corallife 125 super skimmer which works like a charm. also run a carbon and phosban reactor. water params are good. 0 ammonia, phospahate are 0. nitrates are 10.

will i be over taxing my system? so help confuse me more. lol. all opinions appreciated. thnx

Could be a problem with the purple tang if your new tang has the same body type. Remember to take into account the full grown size of your fish. Most fish rarely get more than 1/2 the max size in aquariums especially the larger fish.

90 gallon tank plus sump 30 gallons (is the 30 gallons the water volume of sump?)
if so thats 120 gallons total and as stocking capacity is governed by amount of dissovled oxygen ( and swimming space ) when working out a tanks capacity to accomodate fish, the sump volume can be included ( but swimming space also needs to be considered so for example anyone else reading this should not assume I mean that if you have a 50 gallon tank and 30 gallon sump for example that you could then buy fish whose min tank requirements are 75 gallons )

in your case Divott having chosen fish that are suitable for the 90 in terms of swimming space, you can include the contents of the sump in your calculations IMHO

Purples don't like to share. Watch em closely after you release the yellow eye for a couple of days.
