    Hers's a picture of what a standard metal halide and a 10,000 kelvin bulb look like side by side. :p You sure can see a difference! I can't wait to hook up my new actinic bulbs. It sure is gonna be hard watching this tank cycle.

    good luck Jim! I'd put the other powerhead at the other side to allow more turbulent water. when the acts are placed it will look cooler. wow.....;)

    Here's a picture with both of the 10k bulbs.
    It's time to rearrange and get a background. God that's ugly looking at a wall through an aquarium ;D

    What was that standard metal halide bulb you had pictured? Looked like a 5500 or 6500K

    it did there so ugly in my opinion by themselves. i mean the 6500K

    The bulbs were what came with the metal halide flood fixture. I believe it is around 4500 kelvin. Just a standard 250w metal halide you can buy at any hardware store.
    Here is the tank about 2 weeks old. Just starting the brown algae phase. I have since cleaned it up a little and put on a black background.
