Every second I'm in my room he's peering out of his den watching me. Kind of creepy..but cool at the same time. They have excellent vision. Supposedly they can see different kinds of lights too such as infrared. I kind of want to push buttons on my tv remote in front of the tank to see if he reacts lol 12 gallons is perfect for a lot of species!

Couple new pictures. He just got done molting. He's always so active right when he gets done.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Curious, how long does it take for him to molt and how often does he molt and do you add any trace elements with regard to molting ?

He was hiding for 5-6 days up until today. The frequency of the molts vary, his last one was around a month ago maybe?

100% honesty...I haven't done anything to the tank but change the filter a few times and feed since June when I did a water change. All test results come back fine and the fish, mantis, and corals are healthy. I really need to do a water change though lol but to answer your question, no, I have never added anything to the tank.

Thanks Steve! I have no idea what his deal has been lately, but he is out ALL the time! Cruising around the entire tank! I've been trying to do a video, but my POS camera doesn't like the actinics too well.

You had him since February right? If I recall correctly that is about how long it took my wennerae before he started to cruise the tank constantly. Perhaps he is sexually mature now and looking for a mate? Just guessing.

Is it bad I had to look back at the thread to see when I got him? haha Reaching sexual maturity may be the case. He has definitely grown up. He's over twice the size he was when I got him.

Oh by the way, my roommate, who has lived here for 4 months, just saw him for the first time the other day. She's in love with him. She thinks he's the coolest thing on the planet. I catch her in my room watching him and making him smack the feeding stick haha she named him Steve. So I guess that's his name now!
