He's BEAUTIFUL!! Don't give him too big of a piece of krill. He's carrying it around looking for a spot to hide it for later. Their substrate can resemble a dog's bone yard and it's not very kind to water quality.

Thanks! I just give him a whole one. They're not too big. Never had any water quality issues. Even after 6 months of no water changes nitrates were only 25. Not too awful.

Okay. Its official. I'm getting the reef itch back. Revamping the tank.

I like having only actinic lights on the tank, but I always find it hard to see things and it is hiding all of the awesome colors Steve has. I also want to keep a few more corals in there.

I ordered a Marineland Double Bright LED fixture yesterday. I'm not wanting to keep any real light demanding corals, so this light should suffice. I really like its low profile and simplistic design too. I'm not too interested in the moonlights, so the one switch shouldn't be a problem.

The tank also has a little algae and really doesn't look too great under daylight bulbs..the actinics have done a wonderful job of hiding that! I will be placing a big (for a 10 gallon at least..) reefcleaners order in the next few days. I'm just going to have to get more than the little bugger can eat haha

Steve is doing fine though. Molting at the moment I believe. Seems like it hasn't been too long since his last one. I haven't seen him for the past 4 days except just a few minutes ago he poked his head out of his den while I was vacuuming.

Anyway..Pics as soon as the light gets here!

Sweet. What kind of corals are you planning on putting in there? No real light demanding corals so I guess you aren't giving him a huge SPS coral to bust apart? ;D

Not sure on the corals. Nothing fancy. I miss my euphyllias. May get a couple.

Completely forgot about the light coming today! Got pretty excited hearing the knock on the door. It's been a while since i've gotten a fish related package.

I love this little light! It's so small, but it lights up the tank wonderfully. AND I have the halide shimmer now. I've been missing that since I tore the reef down!

This tank is in dire need of a CUC. So please ignore the algae. I think I will go get at least a giant turbo snail today. Hopefully steve can't crack it.

The ONE coral that survived the 40 Breeder overflow. No idea how it's still going. It pretty much sat in cold freshwater for 2 days. Then I put it in the mantis tank under 1-15w actinic bulb for 5 months and it still refused to die lol Granted it doesn't have as much color as it used to..but hopefully it will perk back up under the new lights.

Tank looks really good. I love those mushrooms I need to get some for my mantis tank.
