ok I have a 20 gallon long and I want to use a spare 10 gallon for a sump. I figured I would try to drill the 20 gallon long instead of going with an external overflow box. Should I use a 3/4" or a 1" bulkhead? I only plan on using the sump to house my tunze 9002 skimmer, heater and of course the return pump. And also I want to add a bubble trap to the sump. What size should I have the glass cut to?

If it were me, i would go with 1 inch for the drain and 3/4 " for the return. Thats how I have my 27 cube.

You don't really need much flow and a smaller hole is less likely to break the glass I think. Really though, either way it will be tough to drill a 20L, it is very thin. Have you drilled a tank before?

I've never drilled a tank before. And the more I think about it the more scared i get to try hahaha. I've just decided to go with an eshopps overflow box. For a 20 gallon long should I go with the Nano or the pf-300? And what return pump should I go for. I was looking at a Maxi-Jet 1100 Utility Pump. Is this good enough or do I need a bigger pump? The distance between my DT and sump will only be about 20-24 inches
