So i have a pretty small stand underneath my 55 gallon. Can only fit a 10 gallon for a sump. anyone have any ideas on how to set it up. Im going to be using a small tuneze HOB skimmer. One pump, an auto top off unit. a heater. I would also like to squeeze a small refug in there as well. any help would be appreciated!!

Sure, I suppose it is possible. Have two chambers--one for return, which you would also attached your HOB skimmer to, and have a second section dedicated to 'fuge. If you go that route you may want to split your line from your DT to have some flow go to the fuge and most go to the return/skimmer section.

Jut make sure you have enough water in the return/skimmer section that your pump won't go dry, and that you wont' have any overflow if the power were to go out and dump your skimmer siphon water into the return.

I could be missing something, but I think you could make it work. Is it ideal? No, but if it works it works.
