I didn't understand what you meant at first, but now I see.

You think I should lower the level of the baffles. There isn't enough difference in height, you think? This would also be determined not just by baffle height, but also the return pump.

I realize that the first baffle can be gotten rid of. Any ideas on what I could use to hold the filter sock in place? Going to the glass shop soon. Like today.

Too late to change the glass height. I ordered the glass today & it should be ready by Monday. $32 plus labor.

Seano, nice setup, I was going to do the same but ran out of room so did a remote fuge really easy (i also run about 800-900 GPH through it). Heres a link to BRS and their filter sock holder bud! What skimmer did you find to fit in that compartment?

True I suppose if you had a low enough gph then I'm sure you'd be ok and not run the return section dry. I decided to go with a tunze 9002 skimmer bc of the smaller footprint. I believe its rite @ 4"x2". Seeing how my overflow section is only 5"x10" I need a smaller one.

    The coralife 65 is a bit bigger, at 4.25" X 5.5". My skimmer section in the sump is 5" W X 10" L

I thought about a remote fuge, I just don't think I have the space.

I dont know if you saw pictures of mine, I set it up from a t with a valve and a vinyl tub in the far corner of my stand. Its between 5-7 gallons of water and chaeto no DSB. Single handedly cured my GHA problem
