Without the skimmer? Awesome. I think I will either get the return pump at the same time as, or before the skimmer. With the fuge as filtration that alone will be a big step up from my HOB filter.

Where can I get chaeto? Do you think my LFS might sell it?

    On a side note...

My cuc... What do you think? I have not yet ordered this.

    35 Dwarf Ceriths
8 Blue Leg Hermits (plus the 6 I already have)
    12 Florida Ceriths
    10 Nassarius Vibrex
    5 Nerite Snails
    3 Limpets
    1 Fuzzy Chiton

Too much? What are your thoughts? This will be for the fuge & DT.

My skimmer is a HOB and was pulling stuff throughout, but still the fuge does alot of the work. Magnus and Dingo sell chaeto from time to time and I would trust them. I can't say mine wont have bubble algae in it since it came from my infected 46BF. As for the clean up crew, I wouldn't worry about having any in your fuge. It IS a fuge and should have a bit of gunk in it thats what they are for. peopel are kinda split from what I've read, and I dont have anything in mine. I wouldn't get any more hermit becaue I hate them, but thats your call, they do a good job and are fun to watch, but mine always go all serial killer on all my snails no matter what I give them. My chittons disappereared after a couple weeks even with TONS of GHA and film algae to eat. Never found one dead, just never found one. Also pepermint shrimp murdered all my limpets, just before eating any LPS they could find ;p

Thank your for your input. lol. Peppermint shrimp are mean. ;)

Yeah I wasn't sure about cuc in the fuge. I know the DSB isn't really supposed to be "clean". I just like the glass to be...

Hermits are cool for me, as long as its only the blues. Reds I have a problem with sometimes. The 1 or 2 reds I have & 4 blues, haven't caused a problem. If I get more they will only be blues.

I already ordered the glass... could I just put a 90* elbow on the PVC fuge side? I would zip-tie a filter-sock to it.

Seano, I wouldn't use a filter sock on the fuge side. IMO it's better to get the pieces of food from the DT floating in the fuge for pod food. If you go to BRS they sell loc-line plumbing which allows you to bend and angle you line for the exact position you want. I used this for my flow into the fuge. They sell a threaded end so you can go from pvc to the loc-line. Link here: Loc-Line Modular Piping - Plumbing ,Drill Bits , Overflows , Uniseals - Pumps and Plumbing - PRODUCTS - English

Here is a pic of my sump/fuge right after I built it. This will give you a better idea of what I'm talking about.
