Tank looks wonderful. Those are some big fish. I bet they eat alot. What do you run for filtration?

I have a marineland emperor 400 hob (100 gallon rated) as well as a marineland c360 canister filter rated for 110 gallons, yea they love to eat I mostly feed them home made veggie cubes as they are loaded with vitamins and nutrients its super cheap and super healthy for them too

hate to tell you but your emperor 400 is only rated for up to 80 gallons and your canister is only rated for 100 gallons. I'd say you're over stocked for the filtration you have. But since its been running for a year and a half you must be doing something right.I would at least run another emperor 400. Always better to over due it on the filtration. BTW beautiful tank.

lol well not to argue but it said 100 on the box and 110 on the other, but this was one year ago, so they could have since rated them differently, I find the filtration adequate if no excessive, and every 3-4 weeks I clean out the filters, and the amount that the pick up is ridiculous, my parameters are spot on always, and I have never once had a single spike of any kind, haha, but I do bi-monthly water changes (every 2 weeks) thanks though I love this tank

also not too sound like a smart ass, but in the case of aggressive cichlids its best to be slightly over stock to spread out aggression that way there is no single fish that is constantly picked on
