A few new blades will get it right off. The acetone will be good for the cleanup part. Are you gonna reseal the entire tank? I had a small leak in my old tank so I resealed the entire inside. I read that new silicone won't stick to the old stuff.

I'm only doing the back pane, the tank is euro braced on the bottom so there isn't really a spot where I have to worry too much about silicone meeting up with silicone to get a seal, and in the two spots there are, the euro racing covers them completely

Are you sticking with the corner overflow? A coast to coast may be nice on this system. It was also hide the ichy plumbing that you will see from the side of the corner overflow. I would paint it black. I like the look of this tank!

You know I was thinking that, but it's already drilled, and then overflow is in a decent spot, plus, where I want it I want it flush against the wall, we will see what I eventually decide

Well fellas progress is going well, got the glass from my shop today and it is a perfect fit, spent about 5 hours so far getting all the silicone off, also cut out part of the overflow for the return nozzles.

The stand has been completely stripped down to the bare bones, which are quite solid, just going to slap a piece of plywood on the bottom followed by a base of 2x4s. Then ill skin it in nice quality wood and add crown moldings and doors.

Looking good! Here is a bit of advice from someone who just skinned a tank. Make sure to clean up any glue runs right away :-/

So the one side will be against a wall? So a semi-corner tank?

    I can attest to this.
