What should i buy based off my current setup? Heres a few options i was thinking:

    1. Currently only using a 150W MH 14k Phoenix bulb, I could buy some supplemental T-5 actinics? or leds?

    2. Finally buy and start testing for calcium, ph, kh, magnesium.

    3. Buy a ton of small coral frags off a Craigslist guy in my area. This would be under $50 and including montiporas, nice lookin zoas, a few soft corals, birdsnest, some nice blue mushrooms and blue palys, and a few others (even chalice's if i dare)

    4. Buy some livestock and fish (check my sig to see current stocking).

At the moment im going with option 1, but let me know what u all think. I just feel i dont have enough color popping in my tank at the moment.

I would suggest this option if your planning on keeping corals.

well yea ive been putting off those. But ive kept livestock and corals no problems thus far. Although i must say coral growth besides some palys, have not been that good.

I would suggest option 2 because test kits are very important especially when you have coral ;)

Definitely option 2 if you are going to keep hard corals or anemones.

Then option 1, then option 3 and after you have reached your fill on the previous three amybe consider option 4.

I have never tested a single parameter past starting my tank up. Unless your a hugely sps dominated tank where you needed to monitor calcium And alk its really simple to do by eyeing your livestock And such.

Let me add that I've had about 14 tanks at one point, fresh, salt, brackish, and anything in-between. If you see something reacting in a certain way, you can usually figure out what to do... calcium is low when colors look a little drab, corals aren't opening, do a water change.

I'd go with getting a bunch of frags locally.
