I want to start a 2nd nano, around 10g. It would probably be [STRIKE]FOWLR with softies (mostly zoas)[/STRIKE] a Reef Zoa Garden with some other softies. I don't think I want to go with a kit unless someone knows one that would be worth it. I really just need some help on what equipment to use and what the best setup would be the best (ie. HOB,Sump,HOB Refugium,Skimmer or no Skimmer ect.). I really love my 20g and think this tank could be a great addition. Any tips appreciated.

P.S. - I am also wondering I'd there is an easy/cheap ATO unit because I don't want to be topping it off all the time.

Your not doing a FOWLR if your adding softies, just a softie reef. I've never attempted a 10g reef, so for equipment I can't really help. However I would just go skimmer-less and keep up with the water changes. I have seen some awesome 10g nano reefs, I just think they are a little small and you might want to upgrade really fast. Also, don't buy a kit, just buy the tank itself. Good luck to you :)

Sounds good to me. There are so many zoas it would turn out good I think. Do you know what fish you want to go in it?

I dont know about very many fish but i have a Ocellaris clown pair in my 20 and they are very cool, so i would consider maybe 1 clown since i dont think i could fit a pair. any stocking suggestions welcome.:)

A clown would be cool. You could probably get away with a pair. Court Jester/Rainford's Gobies are pretty cool. Maybe 1 regular ocellaris and 1 black and white ocellaris would be cool. I really don't know, the smallest tank I've done is my current build (29 gallon reef).

I like the idea of getting a black clown. I have also heard whatchman goby's are cool (especially with the pistol shrimp).

A shrimp/goby combo would be neat for that size tank.

As far as equipment setup, its really whatever your heart desires and how much you want to spend.

HollyG has a really nice softy/LPS 10 gallon tank. I would shoot her a message.
