id put some starboard or something down, not because you need to worry about palling rockwork but i just dont like a glass bottom. Since yo have alot of systems running you can always steal water for constant waterchanges and might not need a sump, but sumps are great for mixing doses if you go SPS heavy. Also, flaming prawns arent that bad, get in good with your LFS and they can sometimes get them in wholesale of 20-50 np

    1. I would definitely go with a sand bed, but go shallow.
2.HOB filter would probably be best and easiest as far as maintenance and still have good filtration. A tank that small would not need a sump unless you go heavy on the corals. :)
    3.LED's would be awesome. :p

haha, Idk then. Not sure what to put in a sump that small.. Maybe you could find a skimmer for nanao tank or a Wet/dry filter? Also, use carbon and sponge media in your filtration.

Drill it. Screen off the overflows and the returns. No pumps in the tank at all. Add a sump and a good overrated skimmer. Good flow and lights. Just put 12 pounds of rock with a couple decent hiding spots and a some SPS. Another 10-15 in the sump. Get a good secure cover that will still allow light to pass and 02 exchange. Then when you done all of that find a Blue Ring Octopus! A very rare, unique beast in the aquarium with the element of extreme danger! ;)

I would drill overflow and returns in the middle of the bottom, then hide them with live rock like the dude that made the volcano tank :)
