is having a refugium with a 10ph overflow box and 10 gph return pump even useful, this is for seahorses should i just do 300gph? im worried about the high water flow affecting the seahorses

Well then your flow through the refugium has no affect on the seahorses themselves. It's the flow through your actual display tank where the SHs are that matters. But it IS recommended that a slow flow go through refugiums. I don't think a 10gph return pump even exists.

What size aquarium are you going to have the SHs in?
