wel actuly is true i read this some were and i was ifraid of using it but i gad the one thats made out of quarts is white and is eccelent it looks just like white beach sand and it wont turne into cemente it will only compact if you are runing a calcium reactor but if you get some sand chifters you will be fine and any sand licks cillica into your tank if you have a glass tank , that made with sillica... if you have a sillica you will grow dytons and wend they die after one or two week then your tank has no more sillica ...i think thats how it gos and thanks for you coments

yea i tought about the but so far no problems you know the sand that i bot at home depot is made out of quarts and is just like beach sand here in florida and when my sicle came the dyetons eat all the cilica the was in the sand if thers no silica the dyeton die thats what hapend now i am not saing go and get sand from home depot but wend you by live sand in a pet store is the same if it is sand it has silica onles it says sillica free, i cant see my self spending $25.00 for a bag of live sand i neededlike 8 bags for my tank and my sump i save $200.00 people just need to read befor they go crazy and go yo home depot and by sand or anything...

 

yes i read that aricle they are many sands in home depot but you are right play sand it do have alot of cilica but lets say you dont want to use play sant you can use 100% agronyte agrgonite ooo i am sorry i cant spell this to save my live any ways is made out of 100% crush corals you just have to read the lable and what is made of the rison y i didnt use it was because i want it a beach look to my aquerium ...

 

I understand what you mean $$$$ but I really hope that you dont have any problems with it. I personally would have gotton the LS from the ocean before getting the HD sand. Esp. when you live in FLA.
