110 gallon tank on carpet?

    Does anybody keep their saltwater tank on carpet..... how bad of an idea IS this? (In my case I'm talking 110 gallons of water.)

    It shouldn't be a problem, It's going to leave a nice mark whenever you were to move it. But the most important thing to do is make sure it's level.

    why? seems like critters(dogs cats kids etc) plus vacuuming dusting etc would get a ton of crap in it!

    do you mean on a stand on carpet? or on the carpet?

    I think I would avoid carpet if possible. Things will spill and I can't imagine salt water, fish food, etc would be fun on carpet. You might have a science experiment on the floor in no time!

    yeah good point! you could always get a sheet of T11 or similar at Lowes, put a cheap laminate cover on it and use that! shouldnt cost much!

    And yes I meant stand on carpet... tank on top stand, lol.
