I really think its worth the money. You can wait till valentines day they'll probably be a sale. I definitely wouldn't recommend a mag drive after buying the DC5000 I will never recommend a mag. You could also spend a little less and get an eheim.

I will check around on valentines day to see if I can save a few bucks. I really like the features that the DC5000 offers but I have went over budget on a lot of my purchases so far :p I keep telling my wife, once I have all the equipment it gets a little bit cheaper and is easier to work on a "budget" at that point.

I figured I would give you all a quick update on my build process. I now have all my supplies with the exception of my reefbreeders LED lighting (should get them in a week).

Also, i'm still waiting on my stand from our LFS. When we ordered it they said 6 weeks and its past that now. Yesterday was 7 weeks. Last I talked to them they said between 7 & 8 weeks. It's getting very frustrating how they can't hit the date they told me.

I've made my first batch of RO water and clean 75 of my 175 lbs of reef saver rock. The second canister has a slow leak on my RO/DI machine :( so i'm waiting for the manufacture to email me back with a solution. Tap water was 475ppm on my TDS meter and the RO water was 4ppm.

So the waiting game still continues. Hopefully I'll get the stand this week and can get it set up.

Finally picked up my stand today. It took longer then expected but it's worth the wait! This thing is beautiful! Also, I received in the mail yesterday, (2) 16" reefbreeders controllable units.

Next step is to wait for my father to get off work to come help me lift the tank onto the stand. I took today off to pick up the stand :)

I've made about 35 gallons of RO/DI water through-out the week so I have some to get started.

Once the tank is on the stand, i'm going to start aquascaping and doing some plumbing. If all goes according to plan everything will be up and running this weekend!

If anyone has any advise through-out this process please let me know!!!

Beautful stand and hood on your tank. It looks like it will be a stunner in that room with the floors you have. Excited for you that you've finally gotten the things you need to get your tank wet! Congrats!

Has anyone used the plumbing parts that came with a reef ready deep blue tank? I've seen online that the bulkheads that come with it are junk.

Any recommendations on what to replace these with and without having to drill the holes bigger?

I also want something that will allow me to hard plumb down to my sump and then back up to the return. The ones that were provided are for flexible plastic tubing.

After going to Home Depot last night to get stuff to mount my lights I realized my plan didn't work. So I went back to the drawing board and thought about unistrut. Bingo that worked! After about 2 hours of work I finally completed my mounts for the lights! Thankfully, the bolt things on the top of the reefbreeders LED lights were perfect (minus finding 6mm nuts)...

    Here are some pictures!
