Just set this up in September. JBJ-12 gallon. 12 pounds of live rock from Indonesia and Haiti. (Haiti live rock had at least 3 crab hitchhikers. - very lively stuff) Mostly mushrooms now, but there is a hammer coral and an arrow crab in there. Got this sweet deal where the LFS sells me there "dying" frags for $3 and I've been able to bring most of them back. Temp is running at 81 day/78 night. Salinity is at 1.0235. This is my first sw tank, so far so good (knock on wood). Any ideas for other crustacean inhabitants? Would a paper leaf fish work out ok with the arrow?

Really nice rock scape! Frags for 3 dollars is pretty sweet. Especially if you can nurse them back to good health. As for crustaceans I would recommend a fire or cleaner shrimp. I dont know much about paper leaf fish, but arrow crabs are pretty agressive.

I was considering a cleaner shrimp, but the rock had some serious fireworms in it - like moving pinkie fingers. If they can go in with the arrow, then I might get one a couple of weeks.

I also saw some sponge crabs at the lfs... weird looking guys - looked like they were carrying wigs. I wasn't sure if the arrow is aggressive to everything or only certain things.

Nice setup. I would suggest getting rid of the fireworms, they are pretty nasty to have in your tank. Bristleworms aren't so bad though.

Nice little setup. I suggest you might want to remove that aptasia anemone before it takes over.

    few things...
    1. sweet looking tank
    2. definitely get rid of that aiptasia
    3. arrow crabs are really aggressive, even towards small fish sometimes, and if your not too attached to it id suggest getting a nicer invert :D
    just my two cents

That rockwork is amazing. How do you like the JBJ 12? Is the stock lighting sufficient for many corals?
