Well i have a 120 gallon 60x18x25 and wanted to make it an aggressive tank or predator tank. I want to know what my options are. How would a vol. lion do with a trigger? Some fish i was interested in were triggers, dogface puffer, snowflake eel, purple tang, male bird wrasse, vol. lion, clownfish, damsels, and foxface. Im trying to find out what my list would look like as far as how many fish, what sizes and how many of the spieces. Feel free to share your experiences with each fish too so i can further narrow down the list.

triggers and lions are supposed to be not very compatible. It may work if your lucky but most people are supposed to run into aggression issue.

so triggers and lion if a def no? If i chose not to do the lion and wanted to do 2 triggers, dogface puffer, snowflake eel, bird wrasse, purple tang and some damsels would that be to much?

I think you may be pushing it with the stocking but it really depends on how good your filtration and WC's are.

research the triggers some are mean SOB's that will kill everything. Also I am unsure of how triggers do with conspecifics(fish of the same family) they may be uncompatible like many marine fishes(so two triggers may not work).

well from what im getting from the triggers is some say that 2 of the same species wont work so i couldnt do say a humu n bursa but i could do like a humu n niger but ive only come across one person who said that the humu n bursa wouldnt work so im unsure. I guess it depends on the fish.
I just dont want the tank to be overstocked alot. I mean i guess overstocking slightly is ok since there is no corals and there water doesnt have to be spot on but its not like im adding them all in at once so im unsure.
I wish lions and triggers were more compatable because i love both of them.

    You mean "genus", not "species".

I have a Bursa Trigger and a V. Lionfish..they have been together for about 10 months without an issue...both have grown a LOT but dont seem to mind each other ever..have never seen one bit of aggression toward the lion (also have panther grouper, valentini puffer, and 2 damsels in the tank) Had a humu but the 2 triggers started fighting and had to get rid of him

oh alright so in your experience the 2 triggers didnt work out? Maybe i should do a humu an niger because they r from different genus.

will a niger be ok in this size tank? ive had a variety of answers so let me know if it will work.
If not maybe i will do a more peacfull tank with a lion, puffer and some other fish. Let me know your opinion.
