    That's why I like it. :)

lol. There's more than one kind. I mean what kid of (live or base) rock. haha

Is it Fiji, Carribean, Tonga, Pukani, Vanuatu, etc?

Then again my LFS doesn't know the name of some of the rock they carry.

definatley a combination of Fiji and Carribean.

We added about 80 lbs LR and about 50 LBS of Base rock.
We also started with 230 lbs of sand (two bags of livesand was used not for the live bacteria but for the grain size variation)

    Just a test with BoostLED's

I just got 2 BoostLED's in the mail last week and have been trying them out.

The pics posted are of ONLY 2 10-watt BoostLED's. They are the 3 RB/2 CW, 60 Degree optics.

Before the metal Halide came on yesterday I threw these two lights on easily (using $7 worklight clips from WallyWorld). Take a look at the pics - I wouldnt run the tank with just two lamps - but you can see how much of an effect they have by themselves!!!!

My crappy 5M cellphone camera doesnt even do it justice!!!

Wow they do work quite well. Looks like 4 could be quite serviceable.

I was really surprised by the coverage as so many people say that LED's do not have good coverage.

I can easily see 4 of these servicing the tank with softies no problem. Prob select low-light LPS too.

Our plan is to go with 3 of these + 1 ALL BLUE BoostLED (total of 4) on one side and the 250 halide on the other side in a canopy. This way we can do a pretty good "Experiment" with the LEDs.

that sounds like a great experiment to me, if you had any of the same types of corals on either side of the tank, then you would be able to post definite comparison details for us
    I would be very interested

Some equipment updates in the last few weeks:
I have finally added both a skimmer and refugium to my system and so far - so good. Skimmer is already pulling nastyness out of the water and I can swear I am seeing more polyp extension on my purple spawn and more feeder tentacles extended on my chalice.

Finally ready to look for our next fish and at this point we are thinking flame angel. It would be picked up and put in a 20Long Quarantine tank for a few weeks to make sure it's 100%. What do you guys think of a flame angel in there? We currently only have a sixline wrasse and a tomini tang.
