You should change the title to 120 algae build lol. That is crazy

Do you have any chaeto? I imagine the inverts can't keep up with it. You could try dosing hydrogen peroxide, you'd just have to manually remove stuff as it dies.

It's nuts. I've taken most of the algae out 4-5 times now, just for it to grow back.

I don't have chaeto, but I just set up an algae scrubber.

Pretty sure my new rocks were loaded with phosphate. Going to continue with nutrient export until its gone.

I took out every rock and used a syringe to coat and soak in peroxide. I used a tooth brush to scrub the rocks, cleaned in RO, and replaced them in the tank.

That should do the trick as long as I continue to lower phosphates

Are you sure it's bryopsis? I thought for sure I had it and had it ID'd by multiple people as bryopsis, but turns out it was just a type of GHA that looks like bryopsis, as was confirmed by sponsor John Maloney at reef cleaners.

I've seen this exact scenario a couple of times for other people too.

Could be. It branches, but its not feathery. Either way, I did a number on it for sure.

    Just finished bleaching the equipment.

It's probably just some type of GHA, who knows how many different hair like algae there are.

Good job with the H2O2, let us know how it all goes.

It's more so the soak in peroxide than an RO rinse
