I anticipated it. At this point, I'm fine with it. I think it has been going through one anyways. I keep going in and out of bacterial blooms.

Coral are pretty non existent at this point. Tank was set up in July, but I never really began stocking it outside of a few pieces.

I should clarify, I didn't soak the rock, I sprayed with H2O2 and then scrubbed.

Hopefully so. I have been trying, but ultimately, I need to get all this leaching phosphate out or it will return.

I'd find a new home for the corals for the time being and just dose peroxide heavily to the tank.

If it comes back strong I may just do it. How long for H2O2 to become water once added?

Phosphate seeks an equilibrium in the tank. It does not take very long for it to "leach" out of the rock. As long as you keep the phosphates in the water low enough your rocks will stop leaching it. Bacterial blooms have nothing to do with the biofi!lm or cycling. I would definitely suggest testing for ammonia and nitrite as you have probably killed alot of the biofilm.

I wasn't until recently when I added GFO. It was sitting at .14 recently. Bacteria bloom may not indicate a biological cycle, but it does equal a nutrient cycle. Tank is still maturing. Only 4 months old now.

I have a good bucket full of rock in my sump too. That should help mitigate a cycle.

Didn't realise it was such an immature system. I would definitely test daily for ammonia then as the bloom could make matters worse.

Yep, and it came over in a haste too when I moved. Sand got stirred up and rock sat in buckets for a few days. I pretty much lost all the coral from my 55.

Immediately had bacteria imbalances that have continued and obviously algae issues too. Lost some fish from ich also.

It's basically been about as rogh a move as you could imagine.

Making progress. Algae is gone, frags are set, calcium reactor is up and running.
