I've been wanting to upgrade our 52 gal to something larger, but had to wait until we moved into the new house. Now all of the moving is finished and it is time to build.

I just ordered 45# of Figi Premium LR from Liveaquaria which should be here Thurs.

We're on the fence about where to get our tank. I've been perusing the boards and looking for advice. I think we're going to go with glass and aiming for 100-125 gal.

I've looked at: CL, Tenecor, AGE, Elos, Ocea, Cadlights, Marineland, Truvu, Glasscages, Zeroedge, Oceanic, Deep sea aquatics, and Miracles in glass and am still unsure, though leaning toward a Marineland tank that I can get through LFS.

    Thoughts?

A custom 120 from Glasscages with 3 starphire panels (not the back), herbie overflow ready, and a nice oak stand and canopy.

    With a 40 gallon breeder sump/fuge.

I was going to go with a 40 breeder and make a custom sump soon (I expect Petco's sale to start within the week).

The reports regarding Glasscages have been less than reassuring (at least from what I've seen). I've never dealt with them personally.

I retract this statement. Just read some unsavory reviews.

    Live rock curing

Here's a few shots of the Figi Live Rock after the first scrubbing and water change. Haven't seen any hitchhikers yet...though I did find the body of a crab that had been dead for a while.

I went with the LA live rock on my first tank. I think where ever they get it from does a pretty good job of rinsing it down cause I found no hitchhikers as well just a few skeletons like you had. Good rock although on the dense side, mine did seem to have alot of sediment in it though, a pound or two at least.

    I'd do a 93 cube or a 48X24X20

I thought it was pretty dense too, but I'm going to put it with some base rock from RC. That should balance things out nicely. :)
