    oh yeah, dont get me wrong. I like the overall value of the LR. Add in the fact the box arrived ripped & torn thru to the plastic I think the overall density helped save some of the bacterial value, I would say it's good rock & was worth the purshase. Like you said though I would say it fills the role of started rock for other base rock pretty good.

    I went with marcorocks on my second tank cause I got the sand/rock combo, but rock from RC is absolutely a great choice as well. If you havent gotten it yet, youll really like it.

    I bought some from there for a previous tank and it (no pun intended) rocked. :) I love the porosity of it..as do the various 7-legged stars inhabiting our tank. I'll check out marcorocks too though.

    We're planning on making this one (the 120) a reef tank and then putting in a bigger (250+) FOWLR in the basement when we get it finished. Maybe I can get some from marco for that build.

    This hobby...addicting, expensive, time consuming... :p;D
