125 fowlr question

    i was wondering what i should get for lighting. i currently have a 48" 4 54watt bulb t5 ho. but i was thinking about either gettin twoo 400w metal halides or 2 250 metal halides with double t5 actnics in them. i just have liverock and maybe want to get som gsp and kenya tree and maybe some pulse xenias. help me out please. here are the links my tank is a 125 6ft by 20 inches deep an 18 inches wide.

    If you stay with softies, even 250 watters will be overkill. Maybe 150s, or 175s. However, if you think that eventually you may want more light demanding corals, then go ahead and get the 250s. I would stay away from the 400s unless you plan on having a SPS tank. Very expensive to run and cool.

    could not have said it better :) even 400's are un necessary for sps on a 125. 3 250's would do the job well for an sps tank.
