They sound like great choices, I ended up going with a bubble mag 180 s, mostly because of the foot print but I love it. So far skimming like a beast. Just another idea to look at.

Thanks for your imput Mike, I looked into the BM skimmer however the water level they require is more than what I have in my tank..mine is a constant 8-9" and their's is 9.5-11"

So I was going with the Aquamaxx AM250 however all the companies I have called/reviewed on their website wont have any in stock for another 6-8 weeks.
Was going to pull the trigger on the Aquamaxx AM300 however I heard the Sicce PSK 2500 is not as good of a pump as a PSK-1000 so I am hesitant on making the purchase. I really dont want to wait that long so it seems the AM250 is out of the question.
Now I am looking into the Reef Octopus, though I see on their website that the recommended water lvl is around 6in however mine will be 8" w/ a max of 9". THe little research I have been doing, I have seen people run Octo's at higher water lvls then what is recommended though if it affects their performance then why purchase, unless the performance doesnt decrease a lot. The max I am trying to spend is $500. Suggestions?

It took about a week and a half to completely break in but this thing pulls out some nasty stuff ! Its big and the cup can hold a lot ! It is also very quiet i spent about 400.00 and i have a very heavy bio load , i love it !! Money well spent
