Big problem yesterday! The new Anemone Worm which arrived on Tuesday melted...

Full on chemical ware fair is under way. So far, the Seabay anemone is a casualty as is the Frogspawn LPS. All softies were down and tight as are the feather dusters and the little white tube feather dusters.

I have pulled and replaced both the GFO and carbon reactors with new carbon in both and maximized the flow. Pulled all the remains which could be removed. Cleaned and adjusted the Skimmer to max wet skimming, mixed 10 gal of new salt and well perform the first of 4 water changes when I get home today.

I ran a full set of tests and still have 0s where I should. No change from last Saturday and will check again every other day until the water changes are complete.

This morning, the Zoes, GSP, Mushrooms, and leather is looking much better but are not fully extended.

Here's a link to a pic of the anemone, though I did not purchase from this site:

They are very beautiful and depend upon use to spot feed them and keep them happy and healthy.

Ah, a tube anemone. Those I'm familiar with. Not very reef safe though from what I've read about them?

I can tell you for sure that all soft corals have responded very negatively when it died... I'm glad that I have only a few coral frags today.

We had 2 different one's of these before, they are very beautiful.

I guess they didn't kill all of your fish as they have been reputed to do?

Well, as of an hour ago, all fish, and shrimp are accounted for...the crabs are hard to keep track of.

What I meant was that the ones that you kept previously didn't harm/eat your fish?

They did not...but, I believe that they are very capable of doing so. When spot feeding them, the response is immediate and aggressive when a meaty bit touches their tentacles.

Generally, all fish have stayed away from the area adjacent to a tube anemone.

Good info. They really are beautiful animals but they are not a good fit for my tank :(
