Hey, I have a new 125g tank that i'm making into a predator. I got some really nice dry key largo rock from marcorocks.com that I love! I just added live sand to in yesterday so I still have a while to go before getting any fish.

So i'm trying to decide what I want to get, in about 2 or so months that is. What do you think? Not all of these, but some of them. All would be way way to overstocked.

    Porcupine puffer
    Dogface puffer
    -Niger Trigger
    -Humu Picasso Trigger
    -Snowflake eel
-Tang- Blue or Brown Powder/ Naso(might be to big) any other reccomendations?
-Angel- Dwarf- Coral Beauty, flame, lemon peel, rusty or large koran, Blue Girdled, Blueface, Annularis
-I want a lionfish but i doubt it would work
    -Some type of wrasse

What do you guys think? Any suggestions? Other fish you guys think would go well in predator tank? Any of these an absolute no?

Adult red corris wrasses are pretty amazing looking, along with brazilian dragon eels, harlequin tusks and miniatus groupers. I would forget about the powder blue / brown tang tho. The blue sounds like it might be OK on paper but there just too fragile, and the brown is very passive and might get its butt kicked. In place of the tangs, a medium sized angel might work out great, like a blue girdled or Annularis..

As far as the lion fish goes you pretty much need to choose between it and the triggers / puffers / angels (anything that likes to nip fins). I have had a lion in a 125 and there a really cool fish, but keep in mind that they will severely limit what tankmates you can safely have.

Bad idea - they eat everything whether it fits in their mouth or not.

how about a scrawled filefish - they have flourescent blue on them and it looks much cool

oh yeah it would, they grow big - not to sure on price tho. I think we are on different sides of the pond.

Do you have/will have any form of denitrafication? As thats gonna be some messy eating fish you have in your tank....
