So, after my ridiculous outbreak of hair algae and numerous failed attempts at resolving the issue, it has finally cleared up.
    My secret?
Removed carbon, bio pellets, uv sterilizer, chemi pure, filter floss and just left the aquarium be. No water changes nothing and for some reason or the other it came back to life on its own. I lost most if not all my corals due to the rise in PO4. All fish survived well.
Now I've regained the confidence and got some new corals. Attempting SPS this time around.

This is a local piece of green stylophora. I got it mainly because of the blue christmas tree worm;)

very nice, so im wondering since you in the Caribbean, can you collect your own corals to add to the tank?

    Thanks,
Well, I can and have collected but our diversity in Trinidad is a bit low, mainly gorgonians, button polyps, zoanthids and one ore two species of SPS: stylophora and millipora. Generally brown in colour but sometimes I see green stylophora like the one I have in my tank.
There are some more different species available but in deeper water where I personally don't venture:eek:

The nicer, more colourful corals are located a bit higher up in the Caribbean chain like Barbados upward.

Looks great, I think you have enough rock, the design is good.

Great looking animals. The 3 ID's are acropora species. The one ID with the montipora cap is another species of montipora also.

I am not good with the species of SPS because I buy what looks good to me. LOL

    Thanks;)

Thanks, I took out one large rock from the centre a while ago. Thought it was too much.
No worries, I buy what looks good to me too. Except that we dont have much variation here but I'm hoping to find some local reefers willing to sell or trade.

    Thank You;)
