I am upgrading my 55 gal to a 130 gal. The 130 gallon is 48" long, 24" wide and 24" deep.

    I have a Current USA 48" - 324 Watts - (3x54 Watt 10K Daylight + 3x54 Watt 460nm Actinic) from my 55 gallon.

I also have a hood for the 130 gallon and would prefer to use the hood.

    SO....

What would be the 'preferred' lighting solution for the 130 gallon with the hood?

Maybe use my existing fixture, maybe I don't. I don't mind replacing it to get the 'right' solution. I don't want to spend thousands, but I don't mind spending hundreds.... so not looking to go budget, but don't want luxury either... just quality.

    Recommendations would be appreciated.

    Mark

PS -- Corals include ric's, frogspawn, zoa's, etc. Nothing out of the ordinary of particularly advanced.

Metal Halides are the best!! You never have a limit with corals if you get them!!!! In limit, i mean that you will never have to not buy "this" corals because you don't have enough light! :)

If you aren't going to do more light needy corals then your current T5 will do. If you want to go SPS and clams then add 2 more T5 bulbs.
