Thanks Dingo. The two orange ricordea that are higher up on the rock work have been in the tank for a few weeks now to make sure that the conditions in the cube are "ric friendly". They seem to be thriving, but I will still worry about the new additions. I wish I had a PAR meter so I could be sure about where to place things. Without one, I might as well be aquascaping by braille.

well i can safely say that you are getting plenty of PAR... are you scared of burning them or them not having enough?
IME rics are pretty hard to burn

Worried about burning. I think PAR where they are at now is about 150.

Quick question... PAR means the amount/level of light? Exactly what do the letters stand for?

Photosynthetically active radiation. The amount of light that corals and other photosynthetic animals can use.

thats lower... i keep mine directly under a 250w halide PAR is about 250-300.
    they are quite happy!

Contrary to common belief, its actually REALLY hard to light shock most corals. they can take whatever our current lighting technology dish out ;)

That's a beautiful looking nano. I am always avoiding doing a nano but it gets harder with threads like this ;D Are you still topping off a couple times a day? What's the long term solution to that?
