Just bought a new (ETSS 1400) clone down draft, it was built by a Boeing Designer and is top notch quality one of a kind and i could use some information like I KNOW min. pump 70RLT max. 100RLT Question what would be a (green) in sump pump that could be used? This would be for my 450 gallon total water volume system. I am still working on build and once running it will be mainly SPS corals.
Any good or bad views/information are welcome! As i have never used a down draft and only know what i have read:)

    Thanks,

I love the etss. We would stock them regularly if they were so damn expensive. We use the 2000 models in store, wonderful units.

    Sump Pump

With what you know and seen do you think a Water Blaster Pump will run it?

Great skimmer! One of the best ever made, but you cannot skimp on the pump.

    PVC sch. 80 1/4" jets

Is a pressure pump needed because of the PVC sch. 80 1/4" jets? When reading online information it say's no back pressure is put on pump with this design?

Yeah, do not skimp... You need an external pump, like an iwaki or a blue line.
I run an etss and it's the best out there!

Yes, you will need to get the equivalent gph that is the high head pressure version

    Blue Line HD 100

I have tried with this build to go (green) as much as possible that you can with (3) Super Dart Gold's and< 8 reactors, plus (2) 250 watt MHs and (2) 120 watt LEDs @ DT and (4) Deep Blue pumps (2) Rios running the reacters, and finally (1) 36" 250 watt MH with T5s over my sump.
So don't laugh when i say watts count to me/ it is funny i can't even stop laughing as i write this..........I should of went NANO:p OK now that i have got up off the floor do you think the Blue Line HD 100 would work in lieu of 70RLT AND 100RLT?
Also if i put a gate valve on pump outlet do you think it would hurt pump since for some time i will have very little load while i build up Micro Fana?

Can everyone say $ 100.00 power bill per month:eek: My thought when i started this build was to stay below $ 50.00 and i would be doing well. Since my 750 reef and fish room was $ 300.00 plus per month/
