If it were my tank I would do just 2 clowns or a clown and a firefish. Not all 3 unless you plan on staying on top of nitrates or set up a mini fuge in the back chamber. But thats just me, I wouldnt want to stock heavily especially in such a small tank.

I wouldn't put anything as big as a clown in a 14. Not exactly much room for them to explore, and then the whole tank will be its territory too.

Can't you fit a 37 in your room? They don't take up much floor space. Much better compromise than a 14.

:-/ Is money what's got you going so small? I wouldn't think a 38g would cost much more to operate than a 29g.

The 29g is a cheap setup IMO, doesent have a sump or fuge...And i didnt want to add all that..

14g seems like it will be cheaper to setup..Im getting a whole 14g for $100 and comes with spare bulbs and all. So i feel like thats a better way to go.

As long as you buy your clowns small you should be fine for a few years, eventually your going to have to trade them in on another small pair or set up a bigger tank.

And 3 or even 4 small fish in a 14 gallon tank is not to much, just do your water changes when you are supposed to and you will have a beautiful tank. I had 6 small fish including 2 percula clowns in a custom built 15 gallon tall for almost 5 years awhile back.

Only reason I still don't have it now is I got married and had to get rid of my tanks at the time.

And you really don' have to have a sump or a Fuge to have a successful reef tank. I know people including myself that have and have had very successfully tanks using just a HOB filter, or even a canister filter. You just have to keep the filter pads clean. I used to have a 10 gallon using a HOB that had 4 pads in it. I would change 2 pads and a 2 gallon water change every other week, it was a beautiful tank.

I have a 29g and am in the middle of setting up a sump. If you have a skimmer already then all you would really need to buy is the return pump. The one I will be getting is $80.

6 fish in a 15g is heavily stocked.

I'll check out your sale thread.
