    Wow, that's cool...I love it! What a great idea. Why did you go with ceramic in the middle chamber - wouldn't that have the same effect as using bio-balls? Using chaeto would help with phosphates correct?

    I wasn't ignoring you mac, I was on vacation on Longboat key, Fla. I used the ceramic because I had them laying around. There is nothing wrong with bio balls, I just like the rack set up and so I went with that for the convenience of it. I use Halimeda in the display for nitrate/phosphate control. Here is a pic;

    I dont have a skimmer yet, so i wouldnt know. But people told me you need that much water anyway, when you do get skimmer and heater, because the water level has to be high enough for skimmer to do its work in 3rd chamber.
