Ya my kole tang is a jerk sometimes. It might not be your case, but when one of my chromis was attacking the new fish, I lured the chromis and managed to catch it. Then I "timed it out" for a while, thinking about bring it back to the store. But it escaped from the containing box by accident, its been behaving ever since.
Make sure the hippo gets fed a lot. If hes healthy enough he'll pull thru.

The Kole has mellowed out. Pretty much ignores it now.

The blenny and chalk bass are too smart. Tried luring them out and towards the top with food, but they disappeared as soon as the net was anywhere near the water surface.

The hippo is eating well and seems to be oblivious to the abuse (other than the ich spots). It keeps hovering around the blenny. Not flashing at it or anything, but it just seems to want to "invade his personal space" so to speak. After a few seconds of it, the blenny nails him.

Will see how he looks after the lights come on in a bit.

Subscribing, loving how the tank is coming along and the SPSs you've got going on.

2 questions, is this acrylic or glass tank?

and where did you get the tank from? I am looking for one just like this but not sure who makes them.

    It's acrylic.

I purchased it from Tenecor about 6 years ago, but they went out of business last I heard.

If you do go acrylic and something near this size, DO NOT let them talk you into a 3/8" acrylic. While it hasn't failed, my tank bows significantly with the 3/8" acrylic sheet. For a straight side of 48+" x 24" tall, I wouldn't go with anything less than 1/2" and I might even bump it up to 5/8". Regardless of the size, tell them you want the acrylic thick enough that there will be "zero" bow to let them know they can't skimp on the acrylic thickness to cut costs. In addition, a tank of this geometry has a very broad span and the acrylic bottom will bow as well. I added a beam and 2x4 supports in my "plywood" stand.

I love the shape and the depth it allows for aquascaping. Just be careful on some of these points on the construction of the tank and stand.

    Good luck!

I really do not want acrylic, but i love the seamless look of your tank! And my dimensions will be in a corner about 34" sides, and 48" across front. But i will have to keep an eye out for one. I think it will be around 100gal depending on how high i go. thanks man! love the tank btw

    Thank you for the comments.

Yeah, the seamless look is awesome and not having to deal with silicone in those front joints is nice. Just a quick scrub when I'm cleaning the rest of the front and it's done.

You could get some nice depth with that size. I'm changing up my scape to add that visual aspect. I have it visualized and the dry rock purchased. I hope to get to it this weekend. More pics to come after that.

Spent all afternoon rescaping the left hand side and middle of the tank.

Good news..I think the new aquascape came out pretty good

Good news...The new aquascape does a much better job of showing the depth of a corner hex

Bad news...I need a LOT more coral now to fill in all the new space I created. :)

    Pics tomorrow night.
