Starting to see a fair amount of bubble algae in my fuge. It's been growing over a 4-6 week window. So far, I've let it be. It's growing in the fuge and not the DT, so if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Also, have noticed a significant increase in the pod diversity on the glass in the fuge. I'm attibuting that to the bubble algae and the pods having something to munch on. Am I thinking right there?

Any real risk of the bubble algae spreading to the DT? I don't have any algae problems in the DT other than the brown slime that forms on the glass every 3-4 days. Is there a point where I should remove some of the bubble algae? My chaeto continues to grow nicely and I take out a softball sized chunk every 2-3 weeks.

Took the plunge and started adding fish again. The fire fish and the starry blenny are the only two that survived my Ich fiasco. Added a royal gramma and a red mandarin to the tank last night. Will get some photos up after they come out and get comfortable in the DT.

Bubble algae will always find a way into the display. It's like a virus. lol.

    Congrats on the new fish.

That may just stay in the sump. Even though it's the same water, the conditions are different somwhat.

Do you light your chaeto 12/12, or 24/7, or ?

    That is another factor, etc.

HOw much we talking about here? One wall, everywhere, ?

I cannot even see inside my fuge anymore. I have all types of algae in my fuge and my DT is algae free with the exception of the green film that will build if I don't clean the glass. I believe if it's in your sump to just leave it alone.
I run a 12 on 12 off schedule with my lighting and have 1 cfl bulb and an led bulb with the Home Depot work light fixtures.
What lighting and schedule do you have?

I run my fuge light on a reverse cycle from the DT lights. Roughly 12/12.

It's getting pretty thick on one wall of the fuge where my water comes into it. The rest of the walls are pretty clean.

I have one 2700K CFL with a shop light fixture from WalMart. Change out the bulb every 3 months.

Sounds about right. If you can I would try to go with a higher Kelvin scale. As close to 5100k as you can get.
IMO I would just leave what's in the fuge alone but that's just me. Others might have different opinions.

It's been a while since I posted and the tank has been neglected all summer. I was able to clean off the front and grab a few shots.

Still not sure where I'm going with the tank. Plan A was to sell it, but can't bring myself to do it just yet. :) Still not sure what Plan B is though...
