Found myself with the lights on staring at an empty tank looking for any signs of life. I think the impatience is getting to me. :laughy:

Nitrites still haven't budged. I went to the LFS and picked up a 3 lb rock. Hopefully that will help kick start it again...

    To be honest, no.

Thought I had it figured out and posted the stocking list earlier in this thread. I'm still trying to sort out that feedback.

My wife wants bright, bold colors and be damned with compatability. LoL! So, I'm trying to meet somewhere in the middle. I may start out with the Pajama pair in the original list.

I currently have a perc. clown in a QT tank that my daughter is using for a science fair project. It'll eventually end up in the DT, but have read that it should go in late because they can get nasty with newcomers.

Summer's coming soon and I'll get tied up with mountain biking, so I may just stock a few softies and let the tank mature through the summer before adding any fish. :)

I pajama pair would be sweet! IMO you shouldnt have any problems adding the perc to that tank first. Its a bigger tank, id be worried about it in a smaller tank but yours is pretty big and has plenty of places for fish to create territories.

Not sure if it was the temp increase to 79 deg, the addition of the 3 lb piece of cured LR from the LFS, or if the bacteria finally decided to grow, but nitrites are finally going lower! Down to 0.25 ppm...

I've read many posters using Reefcleaners for the CUC. I'd like to get one from another place as well for the diversity. Any recommendations?

Awesome! You can email john at reefcleaners and hell put together a custom cuc just for you! But be warned, when you order small snails hes known to throw in an extra snail or fifty;)

LoL! I'm waiting to see what it looks like. I think I read a rule of thumb is something like 1 snail per 2-3 gallons (or something like that). That's going to be one massive bag of snails for a 150 gal. :)

The tank has absolutely nothing in it yet because I haven't had any lights on. Wait for the CUC until I have something in there or get them coming and feed them so they stay alive?

IMO, instead off adding a huge cuc at one time, the cuc should grow with your tank. So maybe buy like 10 dwarf ceriths and a couple turbo snails along with your first fish. Then add as necessary.
