Pics kind of turned out pretty dark I guess - I was told that if you adjust the white balance it would help show the true colors of your corals. Guess I still need some adjusting :p

Awesome pics! Everything's looking great. I really like the fish selection you've got in there as well. That tang thing is awesome :D (Forgot what it's called...and I'm too lazy to reread this thread to find out...)

Keep it up! Full tank shot? :)

Can't get a FTS. There is too much hardwood and drywall in the way.

Quick question. The fourth pic of post #98 - What are those small white specs on the back of the tank. My camera is not good enough to get a macro shot of them, but they are small spiral calcifications almost

In the fourth pic of post #98 - what are the white specs. They are small calcified spirals. If they are not beneficial, how do i get rid of them. I don't want them using up my calcium from the water column.

They are probably spirorbid worms. No matter how hard you can try, they seem to get almost everywhere in most tanks. Most people simply scrape them off of the glass only. They are harmless little filter feeder guys so they are beneficial, if anything at all. :D

Any change they make to your water column, good or bad, is most likely minimal and untraceable.

Well, They do make calcified spirals so I would imagine they are using up some of the calcium and chewing up my alk. At any rate, anyone know of anything that will eat them?

    EDIT: Wohoooo 1,000th post!

    Froc3's 160g Plywood Reef Tank.

    A few updates:

The battle with cyano is a long road. I've been using RO/DI water from the start. Every water change and top off. I've modded my K4s (because I think they suck) with the Sure Flow 1600 Maxi Jet mod white propellers - Much better! Pretty much doubled the flow from each. Been working on trying to find a used d/c Tunze to make a DIY wave-maker.

Still running a single 250w MH with NO Actinics and to be honest. I like the look as it stands. I've been placing all my light requiring corals within range of the MH and my non-photosynthetic corals elsewhere. I'll be getting 2x250w MHs in the summer unless someone makes a good case for Xenons.

Livestock List (Clown tang and sleeper goby have been sold) :
    Blonde Naso Tang
    Yellow Tang
    Purple Tang
    Christmas (Ornate) Wrasse
    Gold Stripe Maroon Clownfish
    ORA False Percula Clownfish
    Yellow Tailed Damselfish

    Corals:
    Green Acropora
    Orange Montipora
    Metallic Green Open Brain
    Torch Coral
    Orange Zoanthids (Australian I believe)
    Orange and Green Zoanthids (Japanese)
    Devil's Hand Leather
Kenya Tree (Except mine is pink)
    Dendrophylia
    White Rhizo
    Green Star Polyps
    Finger Leather

    Inverts:
    Cleaner Shrimp (x3)
    Blood Shrimp
    Sexy Shrimp
Long Spined Urchin (Which poked me today - FYI barely hurts at all)
    Various Snails
    (NO HERMITS!!! :p )

Christmas wrasse is being sold to make room for a Mystery wrasse and two Hawaiian flame wrasses. I love the christmas wrasse, just worried too many wrasses will cause a problem. The battle rages on with cyano. I've added more phosban in hopes this will help it stop growing. Tank shots will be up tomorrow after cleaning :)
