Have you tried reducing you light cycle and maybe going a few days with out any lights. On my nano tank i had to cut the lights for a week then slowly work them back up to running in short incriments and i have finally stopped seeign any. Just an idea for you.

I think I've got the cyano on the way out. Added phosban and have done a few water changes. I switch to a new additive to reduce melibdenum (sp.) concentrations. At any rate.. more exciting news is that the clown tang is doing great in his new home and I'm adding both a cave cleaner shrimp and a spotted cheek tang (Acanthurus Maculiceps) to my tank today.. and only $95!!

Well, the tang that I had gone in to get ended up being a bristletooth tang, but it was about 5" long and THICK! I ended up buying it thinking it was the Acanthurus Maculiceps at $95, but under my lighting realized it wasn't and emailed the LFS. They handled everything in top notch fashion. Offered me cash back for the fish and even called my house and then work to get ahold of me to help me. Bang up job to Colby and Gustavo at Bayside Corals. I ended up keeping the tang as it's a really beautiful fish anyways, but my cave cleaner shrimp is really cool as well.

Froc3, do you have a pic of the new bristletooth tang?

Being that there are only like 7 bristletooth tangs to choose from, it should be pretty easy to ID.

A bristletooth that looks similar to the acanthurus maculiceps is the ctenochaetus Binotatus, or the 2 spot bristletooth tang. I had one in my 90 until my maroon clown beat him up too badly and he did not make it.

I miss my 2 spot bristletooth tang, It was a nice fish and it kept the tank mega clean.

btw, your plywood tank build up thread got me onto 3reef, as referred to by Aj on here (who works with dr fragenstein) .

I might still end up building a plywood tank as you did, but I seem to have found an AGA 180 that needs to be taken down and I can buy it then.

Right on man, I'm glad my thread was useful. I was getting frustrated finding threads that were simply people explaining what they did instead of taking a bunch of pics.

    I've found him - He's Ctenochaetus Nigrofuscus

He's HUGE for this species - Some sights say they get up to 2 feet, but I've never seen a single one over 4 or 5 inches. I hope he gets larger... that just means I can upgrade >.> <.< :)

Yes as a matter of fact I will take pics later today. I added:

    Green Cup Coral

    Orange Plate Coral

    Donut Coral

    and Red Blastos

I am also willing to take pics now that I have torn down my tank and sold the christmas wrasse to prep for the Hawaiian Flame Wrasses I'm getting. I also finally got rid of most of the cyano.
