This was my favorite fish. Never really took to prepared foods though.

Aw man that sucks. I loved that fish just through your pictures of it. It was definitely a good one, the potter's angels at my LFS were no where near as pretty as yours.

    Karma for the loss.

Hey I have tried this project with okay success(not as pretty as i planned lol.) I have read many articles devoted to this subject. I did it about a year ago and used a cinder block sealant from home depot and saved alot of money. 20 bucks for a big can of it. It says it will never leak and it's a guarantee ha ha. Just a thought... Good luck man

Thanks for the tip! Maybe I'll consider it for the next tank. So far the epoxy is holding up really well.

Yes. Plywoods are awesome. Did you make a false wall filter or what do you have running?

Purpletang, I would be very leery of using such a product to seal the tank. Does it say anywhere on the can if it is safe for use on potable water? There is some nsf code that garf mentions. Without that, I fear you will be leaching toxic stuff into the tank.

I don't mean to be a buzzkill, but red flags went up as soon as I read that. I have done a ton of reading and researching products, and plywood tanks in general. I have seen on one forum that someone mentioned a concrete sealing product like you mentioned, and that idea was struck down asap due to it not being reef safe.

Sorry, I have external overflows going down into the sump. Hope I answered the question correctly. If you meant a false wall filter like what you would see in a biocube, then no, just a sump.
