Froc3's 157 Gallon Plywood Build Thread

Some pics of the build... finally got the tank goin after a few university finals. I used 9-ply birch to build the tank with, screws in the sides are spaced at 3 inches... i figured screws are cheap, but if water spilled all over the floor it wouldn't be ;)

Should try looking at ReeFlo pumps as they are super quiet and are a low RPM pump motor that is multi voltage.

Click on the sheet to see watts to gph.

Got the top and braces screwed on today. Also started building the overflows. They are going to be 9 inches deep, 15 inches long and 6 inches wide. The actual openings are 14 inches long on each side. By my calculations that should give me more overflow capabilities than i ever plan on using. Also bought the bulkheads today - two 1.5" bulkheads, one for each overflow. I'll upload some more pics of the build tomorrow. I'm getting the epoxy tomorrow as well to paint in the inside of the tank with and a latex paint to paint the outside of the tank with. Ordered the glass for wednesday.

I've actually never heard of a ply/fiberglass tank before until now. Hopefully you are going to paint the inside something?
