alright so within the next week i will be picking up a 150 dependent on the condition of the tank from either one of 2 sellers

one comes with a stand the other doesnt but is cheaper so and im not sure as to which one i will be getting so links for a diy stad would be appreciated if you have any

as for lighting i will be going with 3 ai sols

what i need help figuring out is the rest of the equipment for the tank and other unnecessary but recommended equipment including:

    -protein skimmer

    -return pump

    -powerheads

-any other missed equipment....no chiller, im running LEDs and my house has central A/C

some plans for the tank will include having a coast to coast overflow made for the tank(other overflow options welcome if you think id be better off with another type). the sump will be made out of my current 55g tank when i make the switch over so the tank will not be filled to max for atleast a week while i make the 55 into a sump/fuge. it will not be sps dominant but will probably have some in it. stocking list will be made once everything is up and running

I would say the mrc just because to me the pm bullet 1 is guna be to small for your tank when it comes to skimmer i believe that bigger is better

any other brand skimmers you would recommend for a tank this size that wont kill the wallet too badly?

i probably wont be picking up a skimmer for a few weeks....first i have to buy the tank, then buy the supplies for the stand and build it, have a glass shop make me the overflows and cut the drains, then comes the equipment, followed by sand/rock, then the stocking begins.....i plan on being fully functional by christmas break

Theres alot out there my suggestion to you is before you buy it do resurch. For a 150 I would want a skimmer that the manaufacture says 250 gallons. Check online reviews, Make sure it fits in you sump, Ask 3reef. Most importantly dont impulse buy lol.

thats the plan, this is a slow build....im piecing everything together a little at a time so i can buy good quality equipment and have time to recover in between each buy....i plan on being running mid november early december....i have 2 tanks moving in so i wont need much rock and i already have some of my stocking out of the way for corals and fish

so picked up tank yesterday, also got a protein skimmer as well....total amount spent $170 and an acrylic QT tank

the 150 is an all glass aquarium, small chip on edge but nothing structural and the protein skimmer is a reef octopus (older model i think either 200 or 250 model)

do you know which model it is, it has a sicce psk-2500 pump on it
