150 hqi on a 12 gal?

hey guys im looking at a great deal on a 150watt hqi lamp and am wondering if it is ok to use on a 12gal aquapod?

i plan on having it a mixed reef(sps dominant), (corals will be placed accordingly..)

water temp/ evap i am not worried about mainly just the light intensity...

don't place it right above the tank. put it a foot or 2 above it. thats how i have a 175 above a 10 gal

thanks for the help guys! ill see how the temp gets to and yes im gonna hang it about a foot above the tank or more well see when i get it!

ill most likely acclimatize all of the softies i get (only a couple) and the sps that need it!

hopefully the evap isnt too bad :-/

 

{Nano}Reefer used to run a 150MH on his 10 gallon for a long time. You might want to ask him about some of the technical stuff. He might have some insight that we missed
