Then how would you release the pods into the tank ? Im not sure I really understand the benifit over the sponge besides nutrients then. Also should I put any sock filters on the drains ?

you dont need a sponge or a sock, but the sock is a better option if your gonna go that approach. a sponges center are hard to get everything out and clean. socks just get thrown in the washing machine ( with no soap ). both will hold pods along with other stuff, with a sponge just turn upside down and put in the water, with a sock turn it inside out and put the end in the water. if you go without a sponge or a sock that will allow particles to continue in your water column, which isnt a bad thing, sometimes. the sponge will allow air bubbles to pass threw, the sock wont. its personal preference in regards to using them or not, some like the extra particles some dont.

Well I should be finally starting to fill with water this week. Also I finalized my stocking list. I would like to add a few anthias but for the most part this is what is going in the tank :
    Yellow Fox Face
    Copperband
    2x Helfrich Firefish
    Algea Blenny
Yellow Belly Hippo Tang - On Order Medium Sized

Anyone see any problems ? The tank is going to be a mixed reef setup. I know the foxface and copperband nip but Ive had them for a couple months with no problem and they are well fed.
