    Hi,
I had to buy a new light. beacause I am gona move everything into a new 20g by this spring, I bought a stronger light so I wont have to buy a new one.

I got a metal halide sunpod 150W. so for the next few month, I'll have 15W/g witch is strong. there is no corals in the tank yet but I should get a few by the next month.

do you have some advise for me before I do something bad with that light?

    regards,

Make sure to acclimate your corals so they can get used to the new light. This shouuld be done for any setup. See how your corals react over time. If they seam to be all closed up and hiding then you may want to adjust there placement in the tank lower if possible or try moving them into the shade. Also you could raise the light fixture higher above the tank if you need to tone things down. Another way to limit the amount of light is by placing some screen from a screen door over the top of the tank if possible to limit the light entering the tank. Or just shorten your photo period.

Good luck with your new light fixture and setting up your new tank let us know how it goes.

BTW. I run almost 13 watts/gal on my 30gal tank. The watts/gal rule is really a very basic rule of thumb.
