You will like the Aqua C too. Sounds like you are spending the money where it needs to be spent to ensure a healthy tank. The controller will be a plus too as I couldn't live without my ACIII. :)

Wow, sounds like a great setup. With all the money youre spending I would think a chiller would be a money well spent to give you peace of mind that you not only wont over heat your tank but will be able to keep a very constant temp which is pretty important too . I put a little 1/10th JBJ Artic chiller on my little 24 gallon nano right away and my tank hasnt varied more than 1-2 deg. ever since. But Im in socal and it gets stupid hot here, and a 150w MH on a 24 gal tank heats up quick ... You can find them on Craigslist sometimes for about 1/2 retail.

I just figured a chiller would be superloud and where would all the hot air and the excess water from the chiller go?

And where would i put it in the first place?

My stand came today along with the canopy....the joints on the canopy were broken but thats ok cause the canopy sucks lol

im gona order another taller one

I have a 29 gallon aswell thinking about converting that into a seahorse tank :cheesy:

Do i need metal halides for a sea horse tank?

i could make it into a lionfish tank...or just put something mean in there that likes to kill things hehe ;)

I should put a lion fish in there and feed it seahorses haha....just kidding

I have a 250W MH (with 130W CF for actinics) on my 150G. It's a predatory tank only, no corals. You are better off with the 250W's, your corals will love it. :) Just make sure you also have fans on the fixtures as well to keep them from getting too hot, blow the hot air out of the canopy as well as in the sump to cool the water.

Oh yea absolutely...im into overclocking computers...been doing that for 10 years so im pretty good at setting up the air flow.

I was very close to ordering the 150's, but before i hit the buy button i thought i'd ask u guys first and ended up with completely different setup and i couldnt be happier

Lionfish will need about 75G+ as they mature, they get pretty big. Sea horses don't have strong lighting needs and a 29G will be a good size for that species tank.
Chillers are usually good under the tank in the stand, or outside the stand. Give at least a couple feet in front and behind the chiller to blow the hot air out efficiently.

I can only speak for JBJ chillers, since I only own those. They are pretty quiet and are as loud as a small good quality fridge. I bought mine off ebay new for about half off retail cost.
